All eyes on Paris!

For those of you who also have a lot of free time right now, I can recommend to visit the 'Haus der Fotografie' in the Deichtorhallen in Hamburg. Almost in time with the Paris fashion week, starts the exibition 'All eyes on Paris' - more info on http://www.deichtorhallen.de/index.php?id=212&L=1.

Also, the Berlin Festival lurs with a great line-up on Saturday. Bands such as The naked and famous, Aloe Blacc, Beginner and lots more will guarantee a great show! (http://www.berlinfestival.de/line-up-2011/running-order-saturday/)

And last but not least, you should definitely stop by the fleamarket in Barmbek, which will take place in Hamburg August 17 from 9am till 5pm. You might find some nice nippes there.

What's for dinner?

Since I am home for the summer break, some kind of a baking fever has hit me.
I really enjoy cooking and baking, and because there are always people who crave something to eat, I can try out several recipes.

This time: Mango-Creme Cheese-Chocolate Cake (I got the recipe from http://www.lecker.de/)
and Thai Yellow Curry (not 100 percent home-made, I had to add a little package of Thai-Flavour).

Sneak[er] Peak

I've just returned from my weekend trip to London and want to share a few impressions that I gained about this amazing city. This time I skipped most sights and focused on shopping, food and fleamarkets. Everyone should include a little trip to the Portobello Road Market. You can get some cute jewellery for fair prices. I might show a few pieces I got in my next post.
Also I proudly present my new nike sneakers that I got at Topshop. It took some time to find the right ones, but now I'm really happy with my choice and they are very comfy as well.

Frozen Yogurt in Hamburg!

I was waiting for a Frozen Yogurt Shop in Hamburg since I first tried it in the US in 2008. "to go cold turkey"

... was one of the vocabulary words I recently studied. It means to stop something immediately, such as to quit smoking. During excessive study marathons I would really love to quit as well right now. But only three exams are left and then I can finally return to the land of the living.

Anyways can anybody imagine a better study break than reading blogs and posting photos? Probably not, except for having a snack maybe...

New Findings

What a surprise! My new hometown, student city Erlangen, slowly turns out to be a little "shopping mecka". I planned to save my money in order to go shopping at home in Hamburg, but at today's fleemarket i made some good deals! Among them was this cute necklace from things like diamonds. Summer in the City!

Rising temperatures and a lot of sun spoiled us during the last weeks in Hamburg. Pictures from our favourite spots: The city beach and Langnese Cafe in the Hafen City, where we found Cold Stonish ice cream. But of course it can't totally keep up wth the famous us ice cream shop. We still enjoyed our desert and highly recommend to visit it!

Lovely Europe

What was planned as a little shopping tour through lovely european cities ended up as a little culinary experience...

I can urgently recommend the hostels we stayed at.
Amsterdam: Shelter City Hostel
Barcelona: Kabul Hostel
They were located right in the city centre next to lot of bars, clubs, restaurants, and of course, close to the shopping areas!

The World is Obsessed with Nailpolish!

And I must confess: I am too! Recently, I read an article in the Instyle on how cosmetic industry florishes, since people just buy nailpolish as they do groceries.
According to Instyle some even put themselves on a waiting list for the blackberry-ish Vernis Chanel nailspolish. So it is not surprising that nail polish is seen as the new it-accessory.

Addicted to Chocolate

Für die absoluten Chocoholics haben wir am Dublin Airport das reinste Paradis gefunden:
Die Chocolate Lounge! Cupcakes fahren wie im Sushirestaurant auf einem Laufband an der Nase vorbei, und in die heiße Schokolade wird - selbstverständlich - eine ganze Kelle zart zerschmolzene Schokolade gefüllt! Ein wahrer Traum für alle Schokoladenfans!
Leider gibt es die Choclate Lounge bisher nur in Dublin, Dubai und Edingburgh. Ich bin mir sicher, dass sie auch in Hamburg herzlich willkommen wäre.
